How do I use the Incense?

First, ensure you are in a well-ventilated area. Use an incense holder to support the stick.

Always place the burning incense on a fire-proof surface and keep it away from children, pets, and flammable materials.

How do I use the Incense?

Light the tip of the stick for 2-3 seconds

Gently fan out the flame

The tip should glow red and begin to release a delicate smoke and fragrance.

What is Agarwood?

Agarwood, also known as "Oud" or "Chen Xiang", is one of the world's most rare and precious natural incenses. It is not simply wood; it is a dark, resinous, and fragrant substance formed when the Aquilaria tree is injured by natural causes or human intervention. In self-defense, the tree produces a rich, aromatic resin that slowly matures over decades or even centuries. This resin-embedded heartwood is highly prized and has been used in Eastern cultures for millennia.

Is Agarwood the same as the Aquilaria wood?

Not exactly. The ordinary wood of the Aquilaria tree is often called "white wood" and has little value. Only the parts that have undergone the injury, infection, and resin-saturation process can be called true "Agarwood" or "Oud." We use only this precious, resin-rich heartwood.

How is your Agarwood Incense made?

Tendril's incense sticks are crafted using a blend of traditional knowledge and modern precision. First, we grind carefully selected wild agarwood into a fine powder. This powder is then blended with a natural plant-based binder (elm tree bark powder) and pure water to create a smooth dough. This mixture is then extruded through a mold and dried naturally. We adhere to a strict 0 synthetic fragrance & 0 chemical additives policy, ensuring you experience the purest expression of nature.*

Why do you add elm tree bark powder?

Elm tree bark powder is a completely natural, plant-based binder that has been used for centuries. It is odorless when burned and is eco-friendly and safe. Its purpose is to allow the precious agarwood powder to hold its shape and to ensure a steady, slow burn, which allows the complex aroma of the agarwood to be fully released.

How long does one incense stick burn?

It depends on the type of stick. Our Short Sticks (approx. 10.5 cm) burn for about 15 minutes, perfect for a quick daily meditation or to instantly shift the atmosphere of a room. Our Long Sticks (approx. 21 cm) provide a longer, more immersive experience, burning for about 30 minutes.

Please note that the actual burn time can vary depending on the specific blend of natural ingredients and your environment. For the most consistent experience, we recommend using your incense in a well-ventilated area away from direct drafts.

How should I store the incense?

Please store your incense in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. We recommend keeping them in their original packaging or in a sealed container to prevent absorbing other odors. Interestingly, like fine wine, agarwood incense ages beautifully. Under proper storage conditions, its aroma will become smoother and more rounded over time.
